Cosmetic Denture Services in Mackay

At Cosmetic Denture Services in Mackay, we are committed to providing an outstanding, friendly, and highly personalised service for the whole family. Are your current dentures not feeling like they used to? This often happens over time, as the mouth naturally changes shape. Our team will spare no effort to ensure your new dentures are shaped to accommodate your mouth and dental structure. After a consultation, they will conduct a thorough assessment of your mouth. You will then be able to choose your preferred denture type and colour. The length of the procedure will differ according to the extent of the work that is required. For example, the replacement of one tooth will likely only require one appointment. The replacement of a full set may require up to six.

Denture Types and Shades

We offer three types of dentures at our practice:

  • Flexible: A comfortable, easy-to-clean partial denture, typically made of thin thermoplastics such as nylon
  • Acrylic: A natural-looking denture that is easily repaired and added to
  • Metal: A strong, long-lasting hygienic denture

Each of these denture types can be finished in different shades to match our natural teeth or to a shade of your liking. At Cosmetic Denture Services, your comfort and wellbeing is our priority. We are more than happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have, and our staff will endeavour to arrange an appointment that best suits your schedule.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Should I leave my dentures in all the time?

It is recommended that dentures be removed at night. This will enable your gums and other denture-bearing tissue to relax, recover, and become exposed to natural antibacterial agents.

  • Will I be able to eat normally with dentures?

Although it may initially take some getting used to, you should eventually be able to eat most foods comfortably and normally. For harder or stickier foods, it may be advisable to apply a small amount of denture adhesive to improve stability. However, it is recommended that you consult with your prosthetist first. Patients must realise dentures never replace natural teeth for functionality.

  • Will dentures make me look different?

Thanks to modern prosthetics, dentures can be implemented in a way that looks extremely natural. Also, the shade of your dentures can be matched to your natural tooth colour.

  • Will I still need to arrange regular denture check-ups if I have a full set of dentures?

Yes. It is crucial to organise regular dental prosthetist examinations so that your oral health, and the continued suitability of your dentures, can be monitored and assessed.

  • What is the difference between immediate and conventional dentures?

Conventional dentures are produced and implemented after particular teeth have been removed and only when the gum area around them has fully healed – which could take an extended period of time. On the other hand, immediate dentures are those that are inserted as soon as the teeth extractions have taken place, but don’t require the patient to be without teeth while they heal. Patients will require relines both temporary and permanent. Ideally if the patient has had many extractions the denture may need to be replaced after 12 months.
